Urgent Call for Improvements to Home Support and Long-Term Care in British Columbia
The British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW) has called on Health Minister Josie Osborne to take immediate action to address growing challenges in home support and long-term care services across the province. In its advocacy letter, BCASW highlights staffing shortages, inconsistent care quality, rising costs, lengthy wait times, and barriers within existing legislation.

The association urges the provincial government to improve workforce recruitment, strengthen oversight, reduce financial burdens on seniors, simplify regulations, and expand support programs to ensure older adults receive the care and services they need.
