Advocacy Circle
The Advocacy Circle is a group of volunteers established to promote and collaborate on advocacy education and action consistent with the goals, values, and priorities of the organization within the framework of our Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The intent of the Advocacy Circle is to bring people together around advocacy learning and action. We provide support, share learning opportunities, and expertise. We welcome contributions. MSW and PhD Student Articles on Advocacy Competition
Call for Advocacy Topic Suggestions
The BCASW Advocacy Circle is calling for short articles written by MSW and PhD social work students (residing or studying) in BC. We are inviting topic suggestions from BCASW members that highlight advocacy.
Articles will be a maximum of 1500 words for publication in Perspectives. The type (s) of advocacy and the fields of practice are open. Credit will be given for illustrated examples of how the skills were used. Use of Artificial Intelligence aids and generative tools such as AI Chatbots is allowed but in the interests of transparency, the student should indicate, at the end of the article, the parts that the AI tools were used for.
The student writing the most useful/ interesting and creative article will have it published in Perspectives (subject to Editorial review) and be awarded a prize by BCASW and the Advocacy Circle.
Articles will be submitted by December 31, 2025 for review by the Advocacy Circle and Perspectives Editorial Committee. Please send your topic suggestions as soon as possible to Barb Keith socw2011@gmail.com
