Karen Nelson , MBA, MSW, RSW
Karen is a graduate of the MSW program at Wilfrid Laurier University and has worked in health care organizations across Canada and abroad. Since 1998 she has held the position of Chief of Social Work at the Ottawa Hospital and since 2007 has also been the Director of Spiritual Care. Karen teaches in the MSW program at Carleton University where she holds an appointment as Adjunct Research Professor. In 2012 Karen expanded her management and leadership skills through the completion of the MBA program at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management. In March 2013 Karen was selected to receive the OASW’s Inspirational Leader Award. She is a volunteer on several Board of Directors including the OASW, Ottawa Inner City Health and the Ottawa CMHA.
