Mentoring for Members
What better way to support our profession than for skilled and experienced social workers to share their knowledge and ‘know-how’ with social workers who are new to the field, relocating, re-entering the workforce, or needing some good peer consultation. Thanks to the generosity of our members, BCASW has a large roster of mentors willing to contribute their time to assist other members. Whether you need help preparing a resume, consulting on a practice issue, exploring an ethical dilemma, checking out a new area of specialty, or assistance with career decisions, a BCASW mentor will be there for you.
Leadership and Networking Opportunities
Become involved through branch activities, practice committees and interest groups, serving on the provincial Board of Directors or on the Editorial Committee of our newsmagazine, Perspectives.
Student Members enjoy Additional Benefits
Students completing their social work degree program can join BCASW at a special student rate of $66 per year. Your student membership qualifies you to apply for the BCASW Scholarship awarded annually to a student member in each school of social work in BC.
Following graduation, to encourage your continuing membership, BCASW will reduce the regular membership fee by 40% the first year and 20% the second.
